PLAINS TWP. – Representatives from PennDOT will hold a public meeting
Thursday to discuss a proposal to link state Route 115 with Interstate 81.
   
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the banquet hall of the Plains Township
Ambulance Center at 90 Maffett St. Project display boards will be available
for viewing, and a formal presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.
    The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the study, present traffic
findings and display environmental features within the proposed site.
According to a release issued by PennDOT, the study is still in its early
stages and will take several years to complete.
   
The proposed project includes a new highway on a new alignment connecting
the intersection of state Route 115 and East Mountain Boulevard with
Interstate 81, Exit 168.
