Bernard M. Kolc, 69, of Courtdale died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, at his home.
Born in Storm Hill Wilkes-Barre Township, he was the son of the late Stephen and Helen Krupack Kolc.
He was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School, class of 1955. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1955 to 1958 as a radio operator. Prior to retirement, he was employed for 34 years for the U.S. Postal Service, and was also the postmaster of the Ashley Post Office. He was a member of VFW Post 283 Kingston.
Bernie enjoyed the game of golf and spending Friday evenings at Pocono Downs Racetrack with his friends.
Bernie is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 42 years, the former Carol Mizenko; brother, Stephen and dear sister-in-law Lorraine of Wilkes-Barre; brother-in-law, George Mizenko and his wife Loretta, Harding; sister-in-law, Geri Gilbert, Sellersville, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews, great- nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his buddies Fred and Ellie; and his charges, Dante, Stella, Brutis, Cody, Sandy and Baxter.
Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday from the Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home Inc., 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville. A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Parish, Bennett Street, Luzerne. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Sunday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. A wake service will be conducted Sunday.
