Weather forecasters give winter a bum rap and ignore winter activities

I want to comment on our local news and weather personalities, radio
included,
who are always complaining about the cold and snowAdmittedly, last winter
was a bit much; however, there are people out there who actually like snow and
cold weather activities.

Also, do they realize that in their viewing and listening area there are
seven (count ’em, seven) major ski areas that depend on people coming out to
ski for their operating revenue?

I don’t hear anyone saying “It’s 90 degrees and sunny today so don’t go to
the beach because you might get sunburned!” But how many times do hear: “It’s
freezing, so don’t go out unless you have to. We may get snow so it’s a good
day to stay home”?

Yoo-hoo! That’s why there are winter clothing manufacturers and people who
make snowtires.

How about giving the ski areas a little support and show some enthusiam for
an industry that brings major dollars to Northeastern Pennsylvania.

I’d love to watch the weather and hear: “Boy, it’s going to be a great day
for skiing! We just got six inches of fresh powder!”
