Marie Griglock

Hughestown resident Marie Griglock is seeking election to Borough Council seat for 4 years.
She has served as Secretary, Treasurer of Hughestown Boys League, helped with many projects in Robert Yaple Park for Boys League and is involved with the maintenance of the park area, helped put the stand in for Boys League. The stand was put up in one day and even painted with the help of Hughestown residents.
She served as Secretary Treasurer of Hughestown Democratic organization for many years.
She was involved with Hughestown Centennial 100th Anniversary and 125th anniversary holding fundraisers enabling residents to afford attending this successful event. She informed residents of all goings on Hughestown Borough as a news correspondent since 1977.
She served as Borough Secretary for 7 years. She helped to keep residents informed of all activities in the borough. Each councilperson Mayor and Solicitor was given report at each meeting and work session of all events in the borough.
She belongs to Hughestown Robert Yaple Memorial Park and assisted with the new playground equipment newly installed. This project has been in the making for many years and finally put together.
She applied for eliminating council members from 7 to 5 saving of $3800 a year. Plans have been in progress since February 9.
The Washington Terrace sewer project was initiated by Marie along with councilmen contacting all residents of Washington Terrace, Division St. and Leonard St. They now have new sewers for that area at no cost to residents. She has been a part of the Clean Up in the borough to help keep areas clean, painted and maintained.
“I have served Hughestown Borough residents and hopefully will continue to do so with your vote. I am asking for your vote to give Hughestown back to the residents,” she said.
