KINGSTON: Wyoming Valley Montessori School, 851 W. Market St., will hold an open house for students 18 months of age through sixth grade at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the school’s campus.

Information about the school, its educational philosophy and curriculum and student environment will be available. The school is accepting applications for enrollment for the 2011-2012 school year.

LEHMAN: Penn State Wilkes-Barre Alumni Constituent Society is offering a bus trip to the Bryce Jordan Center in State College to watch the Penn State men’s basketball team take on the Northwestern Wildcats on Feb. 13.

The bus will depart from the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus at 10 a.m.

The trip is open to the public and costs $50 per person, which includes bus transportation, ticket to the basketball game, and a lunch buffet at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel prior to the 3:30 p.m. game.

PITTSTON: Three Pittston Area High School students, Pat Dougherty, Frank Shannon and Kyle Magda, are collaborating with Operation Touch of Home in Monroe County to help give back to the men and women serving in our military overseas. Essential items and toiletries will be collected through early February. Drop-off boxes are available at the Dupont V.F.W. and at Sacred Heart Church, Dupont. Some items requested are lip balm, eye drops, candy, gum, crossword puzzles and new DVD’s.
