Florette Williams

    Florette M. Williams, formerly of Bear Creek Township, and Binghamton,
N.Y.,
   
died Friday, at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kingston where she had been a
patient since May 23rdShe had been a resident of Myers Manor, Wesley Village,
Pittston, since 1994.
   
Born in Brisbane, Australia, she was the daughter of the late Percey and
Johanna Spann Harvey, and came to the United States following her marriage in
1946.
   
She had resided in Bear Creek Township for several years, later moving to
Wilkes-Barre in 1967 and to Binghamton in 1972.
   
She had been director of admissions at River Mede Manor Nursing Home,
Binghamton, N.Y. for many years, retiring in 1980.
   
She had been a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Binghamton.
   
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Williams in 1966 and
sister Enid Harvey.
   
Surviving are son the Rev. Bruce H., Drums; granddaughter, Jenny M.,
Waverly; brother Kenneth S. Harvey, Palms Beach, Queensland, Australia.
   
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Centenary United
Methodist Church, 26 North Main St., Ashley, with the Rev. Harold Wheeler,
pastor, officiating.
   
Friends may call at the Church from 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday until time of the
service.
   
Private interment will be at Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton at the
convenience of the family.
   
Memorial donations may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the the charity of
the donor’s choice.
   
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the H. Merritt Hughes
Funeral Home, Inc., 451 North Main St., Wilkes-Barre.
