Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania is seeking nominations for its 2014 Gallery of Hope.
Any female or male breast-cancer survivor residing within BCNEPA’s 13-county service area can be nominated.
Visit www.bcnepa.com/hope before Nov. 1 and click on “Nominate a Survivor” to submit information about a friend or family member for consideration. The 2014 honorees will be announced in January.
Honorees in the 2013 Gallery of Hope included:
• A 75-year-old retired nurse and grandmother of six from Luzerne County who is a Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins season-ticket holder
• A 49-year-old computer systems analyst from Bradford County who organized a fundraiser to benefit breast-cancer survivors in her hometown of Troy
• A 55-year-old NASCAR fan from Monroe County who promotes breast-cancer awareness by participating in local Pink Light Walks and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life
• A 34-year old hospital admissions registrar and mother of five from Lackawanna County who celebrated her breast-cancer victory by taking part in the Dirty Girl Mud Run.

Bra-Vo event slated
for Vision Imaging
Vision Imaging of Kingston will sponsor “Bra-Vo, an Uplifting Event” from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 27 at 517 Pierce St.
Qualified bra fitters from Jockeybra will help women find their perfect brassiere fit.
Dr. Thomas F. Bednarek, a radiologist specializing in women’s imaging, also will give a talk on breast-cancer awareness.

Candy’s Place, the Center for Cancer Wellness, will host a discussion on lymphedema at 5:30 p.m. today in its suite at 190 Welles St. in Forty Fort.
A speaker will discuss what lymphedema is, how to prevent is and how to manage it. Light refreshments will be served. The public is invited. If you would like to attend, call 570-714-8800.
