Members of the Abington Community Library Teen Literature Committee recently celebrated their five year anniversary and honored their high school senior members who are graduating. Above left, at the celebration, were, from left: Hayley Lenahan, co-chairperson; Laura Gardoski, who will attend Baptist Bible College to study Communications; Alexa Mattise, who will attend the University of New Mexico to major in Archaeology; Renee Roberts, co- chairperson and Carolyn Cutillo who will attend New York University to study theater. Seniors absent from photo were Anna Beth Fish, Shannon Messana, and Lillian DeRitter.
Above right, The Friends of the Abington Community Library presented a scholarship to Laura Gardoski, of Clarks Summit, daughter of Ken and Sharon Gardoski. This is the second year that the Friends have awarded the scholarship to an active member of the Abington Community Library Teen Literature Committee. Gardoski plans to attend Baptist Bible College in the fall, majoring in Communications with an emphasis in writing. She would also like pursue a career in library science down the road, she said.
