There are many different ways to raise money for a good cause. Our Lady of the Snows Church in Clarks Summit found a way to raise money while providing a fun filled evening for the youth in our area. This event is known as N’ap Danse Ananm, or translated from Creole, the language of Haiti, as “We all dance together.”
The N’ap Danse Ananm has been held by the church for the last eight years. This event is about raising funds for an organization called “Hands Together.” According to the Web site at www.handstogether.com, this organization sends the money to a Haiti child orphanage. Last year the organization raised $5,300 — enough to feel 7,000 children for a week.
“I think this event is one of the better events we do because it’s not only for us, but we also know we are helping people that need to be helped.” said participant Pat Fricchioni.
The event is located at the Newton Recreational Center and runs from 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12 to 7 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 13. “The moon bounce was the best part,” said former participant Corrine Wolff of last year’s event.
