Birchwood celebrates National Nurses Day
   
Birchwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center recently celebrated National
    Nurses Day by honoring all of its nurses with snacks and gifts. Prizes were
awarded to the winners of a door prize drawing. Shown, from left, are resident

Cheryl Crawford, an active member of the Lutheran Welfare Service (LWS)
Auxiliary, was the recipient of the LWS Helping Hand Award at the recent
Annual Meeting of Lutheran Welfare Service of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Crawford received the ward for her devotion and dedication to the LWS
Auxiliary and its efforts on behalf of LWS. Lutheran Welfare Service is a
not-for-profit social ministry organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church
in America serving northeastern Pennsylvania. It offers a wide variety of
human service programs, including Saint Luke Manor and Saint Luke ~Pavilion,
long-term care; Hospice Saint John, hospice care; Volunteer Home Care,
non-professional home care for the homebound; and Amity Village and
Lutherwood, senior living communities. Show, from left, are: Rev. Calvin O.
