SCRANTON — A repeat drug offender from Edwardsville was sentenced Monday to more than 12 years in federal prison for conspiring to distribute heroin in the Luzerne County region.

Shaliek Stroman, 32, was sentenced by Senior U.S. District Court Judge James M. Munley to 151 months behind bars after conspiring with others from Alabama, Florida and Luzerne County to distribute heroin in the county between February and October 2014.

Stroman previously pleaded guilty and admitted to distributing more than 1,500 bags of heroin throughout the county, prosecutors said.

Another man connected to the distribution ring, Antuan Jamison, was sentenced Tuesday by Munley to five years in federal prison. Jamison, 36, also previously pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute heroin in the county.

Prosecutors said Jamison, of New Jersey, admitted to distributing approximately 3,500 to 14,000 bags of heroin.

A federal grand jury indicated Stroman, Jamison and four others in 2014 following a joint investigation by investigation by members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Kingston Police, Plymouth Police and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office.

Munley said Stroman, a “recidivist heroin dealer,” must be held accountable for repeatedly distributing heroin during the past decade.

Munley ordered Stroman to forfeit his interest in $7,334 and a 2000 Buick Park Avenue.
