Richard G. L. “Rick” Eckrote, 57, of Avoca, died late last week at his home.
He was born June 2, 1952, in Wilkes-Barre, and was a son of the late Franklin D. and Marguerite Bower Eckrote. He graduated from Berwick High School, class of 1970, and then attended Bloomsburg University for three years. During his working life, he worked several jobs before becoming disabled.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Janet Eyet.
He is survived by brother, F. Daniel Eckrote and his wife, Marlene, of Berwick, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Jan. 7 from the Hinckley Funeral Home, Berwick, with the Rev. Joseph Brady, pastor of Bethany United Methodist Church, Berwick, officiating. Burial Pine Grove Cemetery.
