Zella G. Berk, 92, of Butler Street, Kingston, died Wednesday morning at
homeBorn in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Israel and Sarah
Steinberg Greenberger. She was a graduate of Central High School. She came to
this area 70 years ago. She was a member of Temple Israel, Wilkes-Barre, and
its Sisterhood, and numerous ladies organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney, in 1967.
Surviving are a son, Joseph, Cambridge, Mass.; daughter, Mrs. Jack (Marion)
Schoenfeld, Manchester, N.H.; brother, David, Scranton; sister, Mrs. Samuel
(Gertrude) Malkin, New York City; four grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday from the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel,
348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre, with Rabbi James R. Michaels and Cantor Ahron
Abraham officiating.
Interment will be in Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Shiva will be observed in the family home, 141 Butler St., where friends
may call 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
