Tunkhannock (1-6) at Williamsport (2-5)

7 p.m. today

The Coaches: Tunkhannock’s Rod Azar (4-23, 3rd year); Williamsport’s Kevin Choate (2-15, 2nd year)

Last Meeting: Tunkhannock 35-14 in 2012

All-Time Series: Williamsport leads 16-6

Quick Fact: Tunkhannock finished with a season-high 412 yards on offense in last year’s game.

Scouting Tunkhannock: Man, the Tigers can’t catch a break. Leading rusher Ryan Cywinski and leading receiver Brett Stage both missed last Friday’s 48-6 loss to Wyoming Valley West. Tunkhannock was a huge underdog no doubt, but you’d like to at least go into the fight without one hand tied behind your back. Then starting QB Brian Beauchemin hurt his ankle during the game. The roster isn’t very big, so every injury gets magnified. It will be interesting to see who’s on the field tonight.

Scouting Williamsport: Williamsport took a 7-0 lead against Berwick last Friday night, then felt the Dawgs’ bite in a 48-7 loss. RB Isaac Foust had 58 yards on the ground, but the rest of the team netted minus-31. Neither of the two quarterbacks was effective as they were sacked five times. The offensive struggles have continued since the season-opening win as the Millionaires haven’t topped 200 yards in any of their last six games. The defense has played well in spurts, but an inconsistent offense is really putting the pressure on the unit.

What To Expect: If Tunkhannock is at full strength, this could be a competitive game. However, this could be the game Williamsport was waiting for to wake up from its offensive slumber.
