Cronin takes Tunkhannock to boys soccer victory

TUNKHANNOCK —Aidan Cronin belted the game-winning goal to guide Tunkhannock past Wyoming Valley West 3-2 in Wyoming Valley Conference interdivisional boys soccer. Cronin connected on a Brian Ly pass in the 60th minute and assisted the team’s first goal from Adam Billings.

Tiger goalkeeper Zac Daniels made seven saves, including two penalty kick saves in the final 20 minutes.

Nick Singers scored the Spartans’ lone goal from a Ray Ercolani assist.

Coughlin 11, Pittston Area 0

The Crusaders rebounded from their first loss of the season, erupting for a season-high in goals on Monday led by four goals from Tommy Sebia and three from Travis Keil.

Frank Castellana, Dave Marriggi, Nick Stavinski and Phil Torres also struck the back of the net for Coughlin.

Nanticoke 4, Holy Redeemer 0

Rees Roberts’ hat trick propelled the Trojans to the victory, while Ed Lukowksi chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Wyoming Area 4, GAR 1

Brian Wisowaty scored two goals to pace the Warriors. Josh Donvito and Leo Skoronski each tacked on a goal.

Katelyn Oldziejewski scored the Grenadiers’ lone goal off an Anthony Tlatenchi assist.

Hanover Area 2, Berwick 0

Matt Clemons assisted on the first goal and scored the second while leading the Hawkeyes to victory. Joe Gagliardi made 11 saves in the crease to pitch the shutout. Dillon Luzny scored the game’s first goal for Hanover Area in the first half.

Morgan Brogan made 25 saves for Berwick despite the loss.

Hazleton Area 4, Meyers 1

Josh Covrrubias-Capriotti, Alec Losen, Ethan Chartrund and Dominick Kirk all scored their first goals of the season for Hazleton Area.

Meyers’ Gino Setta scored a goal from Jesse Macko.
