Fr. – Butterfly/Medley

Competing in her first districts, the Dallas freshman won a pair of silver medals in both the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly. Zolner finished just 15-hundredths of a second short in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.55. She came second in the 100 butterfly with a 1:00.79. She led Dallas to a district championship with two winning relays. At states, Zolner took 13th and 15th in the 100 fly and 200 IM, respectively. In addition, both 200 and 400 free relay teams earned state medals by finishing fifth.

Sr. – Freestyle

Augustine helped lead her Mountaineers team to a district championship in her senior season. She took second place in the 200 free, dipping under the 2-minute mark at 1:59.76. Her 200 and 400-free relay squads won district championships. Two weeks later, they earned a pair of state medals by finishing in fifth place in both relays. Augustine clocked a 28th-place performance in the 200 free at states.

Riley Williams

Holy Redeemer

Jr. – Diving

Williams won her first career District 2 diving championship by scoring a 369.4 and taking the meet by a 20.35 points. Reaching finals at states, the Holy Redeemer junior finished in 16th place in the state with a 316.04 score. She joins her sister, Kelsey, as a district diving champ after never trailing once through the 11-round diving competition.

Wyoming Seminary

Jr. – Distance/Medley

A transfer from Germantown Academy, Kupsky earned her first District 2 championship by edging out the competition for a come-from-behind victory in the 200 IM. She followed that with a second place finish in the 500 free. Kupsky secured a PIAA medal in the 200 IM with an eighth-place performance with a time of 2:12.03. She finished 26th in the 500 free at states. Both her 400 free and 200-medley relays qualified for states and finished 22nd at Bucknell.

Wyoming Seminary

Fr. – Breaststroke

The move to Northeastern Pennsylvania benefited the Blue Knight freshman. She started her varsity competition by owning the fastest 100 breaststroke in the WVC. She took third at districts in the event in 1:10.45 and placed fourth in the 200 free. She qualified for states as part of Wyoming Seminary’s 200 medley and 400 free relays, nabbing 22nd in both races.

So. – Butterfly/Back

Lukesh was an integral part of a much-improved Blue Knights team, grabbing at-large state bids in two relays and an individual event. Lukesh garnered third in both the 100 back and 100 butterfly . She produced a 23rd-place performance at states with a 1:01.66 finish in the 100 butterfly. Her 400 free and 200-medley relay teams placed 22nd in Lewisburg.

Tunkhannock

Jr. – Back

Rebounding from a disappointing fifth-place finish in the 100 butterfly, Manglaviti rebounded nicely to earn second place in the 100 backstroke with a 1:01.32 finish at the District 2 Class 2A championships. The Tunkhannock junior touched in 22nd place in 1:01.52 in the 100 backstroke at states. Leading the Tigers to a pair of fourth-place relays, Manglaviti swam the second-fastest pace in the 400-free relay.

Hazleton Area

Sr. – Freestyle/Butterfly

The Hazleton Area senior raced to a pair of regional championships in the 100 butterfly and the 200 free. It brings her career total to five individual gold medals, in addition to one relay title. Grego took the 200 free by over four seconds with a time of 1:58.11. The West Chester-bound Grego upset Mia Nardone to take the 100 fly in 58.94 seconds, falling 12-hundreths of a second short of the district record. Both of her Cougar relay teams finished in second. She placed 30th in each of her races at states.

Shelby Sanko

Hazleton Area

Sr. – Distance

Four silver medals were around Sanko’s neck following her final regional championships. She took second in the 200 free after dropping eight-plus seconds off her seed time for a 2:02.79 finish. Sanko barely had control of the lead heading into the last 50 yards before losing by a mere 15-hundreths of a second for a 5:30.22 finish in the 500 free. Both of her relay teams claimed second.

Wyoming Valley West

Jr. – Distance

Winton was neck-and-neck with Hazleton Area’s Shelby Sanko for 500 yards before pulling ahead for a 15-hundreth second victory with a time of 5:30.07. Her first regional championship earned her a spot at states where Winton dropped three seconds for a 32nd-place finish. Her 400-free relay team outraced Hazleton Area for a regional title. She registered a 23rd-place showing at states

Wyoming Valley West

So. – Breaststroke/Medley

The Wyoming Valley West freshman turned in her first regional championship with a come-from-behind first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.76. Ivanitch dropped more than four seconds off her seed time to take second in the 200 IM at 2:18.33. In Lewisburg, she placed 30th in the 100 breaststroke field. Ivanitch helped the Spartans win a regional 400-free relay championship and took them to a 23rd-place finish at states.

Chelsea Mackiewicz

Wyoming Valley West

So. – Freestyle

Mackiewicz logged a pair of third-place swims at the regional championships. She took bronze in the 50 free with a time of 25.82 seconds. Mackiewicz followed that with a 56.85 second outing in the 100 free. She booked a trip to Lewisburg as the anchor on the regional champion 400-free relay team, which finished 23rd at the Class 3A state championships.

Pittston Area

Sr. – Butterfly/Backstroke

Nardone returned to the top of the podium with a first-place finish in the 100 back. She cut more than three seconds off her seed time to touch the wall in 1:00.37. Nardone came under a minute (59.59 seconds) but still came away with silver in the 100 butterfly at districts. At states, the Marywood-bound swimmer placed 31st in the 100 back.
