Angela “Nell” Skaches died on Tuesday evening at the Highland Manor Nursing Home, where she resided since October of 2008.
She was born in Inkerman, on November 2, 1914, daughter of the late Anthony and Agatha (Machinskas) Skiechius. She was a former member of St. Casimir’s Church, Pittston. She was a graduate of Inkerman High School, Class of 1933.
Angela was employed by the Hotel Sterling, Wilkes-Barre, and then pursued a career as a licensed beautician, having her shop in her home. She was an accomplished seamstress and excelled in the field of arts-and-crafts. She retired to the Anthracite Apartments, Pittston, in the 1990s.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are her nephew Nello J. Talamello and other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from St. John the Evangelist Church, William Street, Pittston, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Pittston. There will no public calling hours at the funeral home. Friends may call on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to the time of service, at St. John the Evangelist Church, William Street, Pittston.
Arrangements are by the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134 Church, Pitttston.
