Frances Spinelli, of West Pittston, died November 8, 2009, at The Wesley Village, Jenkins Township, where she was a guest.
She was born in Old Forge and was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Benfore Marciante. She graduated from Old Forge High School. She had resided in West Pittston for more than 65 years. She had been employed as a seamstress in the garment industry. She was a member of the Italian Christian Church, Pittston; a member of Friends of West Pittston Library; a member and past secretary of the ILGWU, AARP, the Widow’s Club, RSVP and TOPS. She recently completed her 30 years as a volunteer service at The Wesley Village and 30 years of volunteer service at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Earlier she volunteered at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital. She was also a former member of the Living a New Life, a member of the Senior Citizens of Pittston, a Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army and past chairperson of the ILGWU crafts at the Pittston Tomato Festival.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Edward; daughter, Carol Urban; brothers, Michael, Paul, Angelo; and sisters, Anna, Mary and Josephine.
Surviving are her daughter, Esther LaMark and her husband, Santo; grandsons, Tony LaMark, Tim LaMark and his wife, Kelly; son-in-law, Robert Urban Sr.; grandsons, Edward and his wife, Krista Urban, Robert Urban, Michael Urban and his wife, Daniell, Thomas Urban; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew and Caroline; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Nov. 12 from the Hughes & Son, Funeral Home, Forty Fort, officiating. The interment West Pittston Cemetery, West Pittston.
