Generosity to LIU, kids appreciated

The staff and administration from the Luzerne Intermediate Unit would like
to thank the following for their generosity that was given them at the Mackin
School for the Christmas party and presents that were received from Santa
Claus and the Local Union 243: Domino’s Pizza, Sunshine Market, Medico
Industries, PDQ Print Center, UUSWA Local 5652, Norvada Inc., Local Union 243,
parents/guardians, and staff and a special thank you to the PTO for their
continued support.

Support for project welcome

I would like to thank the Greek Church Union and Mr. Andrew Turriziani for
their support of the Laurel Run Giants Despair Park.
I also want to commend Ms. Jaymie Shuleski for her help in supporting our
proposed recreation area, which when completed will enhance both Laurel Run
and Wilkes-Barre Township.

The generosity of the Greek Church Union will go towards the eventual
cleanup and beautification of this blighted area. On behalf of present and
future generation, I extend my sincerest thanks.

Retiree a tribute to mail carriers

So very often no one remembers to say “Thank You” for a job well done. I
would like to publicly Thank the nicest, most personable and friendly mailman
that ever serviced Dupont Borough.

Anthony Ginocchietti, who no one ever recognized by anything other then
“Gino” certainly was a credit to the Postal Service.

He walked his route with a friendly smile and pleasant attitude. Nothing
was too much trouble for him. He knew us all by first name, even our dogs.

Gino, good luck to you on your retirement. Enjoy it in good health. May God
bless you and yours for all the brightness you brought into our lives.

On behalf of the people of Dupont Borough “THANK YOU, GINO” and God Bless.

Dining experience was outstanding

I am writing to thank a local businessman, his family and establishment for
going above and beyond to make our organization’s event so successful and
enjoyable.

On Feb. 12, 2005, 54 members and friends of The Vegetarian Way were
privileged to partake of an amazing vegetarian Chinese New Years Banquet at
Tasty Buffet, 15 E. Market St., Wilkes-Barre.

The Chi Family, who owns and operates Tasty Buffet, superbly prepared over
18 delectable dishes for our event. Vegetarian restaurant options are very
limited in the valley. Few understand and adequately accommodate the needs of
this healthy lifestyle. The wonderful people at Tasty Buffet went out of their
way to provide the best dining experience.

In addition, they closed their restaurant to the public to accommodate the
size of our group and began preparing food at 8 a.m. for our noon vegetarian
buffet. Their children even helped us organize seating; write out name tags
and sign members and guests in.

The Vegetarian Way’s members appreciate all the hard and skillful work that
Ming-Sheng Chi, his wife Yun-Yan Chen, and their children Kelly, Jenny and
Jian put into answering our dietary needs and providing a welcoming
environment. We’d like to thank the Chi Family for an unforgettable dining
experience.

Lasting memories, and gratitude

We would like to thank the members of the Building Industry Association,
who have stopped at nothing to delight our Zoe.

The day we were departing for our trip to Disney World, a gracious and
loving gift, given and arranged; done to every last detail by the BIA, to Zoe
and our family, a blizzard blew hard all around us. But nothing could dampen
the feelings of the joy in our hearts, because we were taking Zoe into a dream
world.

Zoe left her wonderful new “Princess Room” to travel into a world, where
dreams and wishes come true, and for Zoe and our family they came true,
through the love and generosity of the BIA.

They gave to Zoe a joy that words could not describe — the smile on her
face, as she encountered Mickey Mouse, and Minnie, Donald, Eyore, Snow White,
and so many, more.

To see Zoe wipe the tears from her eyes, as she watched “Beauty and the
Beast,” and as she stomped her feet, and clapped her hands, while watching
“The Lion King,” just about made our hearts leap from our chests.

It was wonderful to see Zoe’s expression as she watched the magic of the
parades, and to see the relaxed look on her face as she rode in planes for the
first time as a tourist, and not as a patient.

The joy this trip brought to us will last a lifetime, and we could never
thank the BIA enough for that.

Zoe is back to the comfort of her beautiful new room, and on April 5 she
faces another surgery, but how wonderful for us, to now hold in our minds eye,
the memories of this Disney trip, something that as a family, together, we
will always treasure in our hearts, just as we will always treasure those who
made it possible.

Though the journey is over, it was (a) journey that replace(ed) troubles
with sights and sounds of beauty.

We are so thankful to the BIA for letting us hitch a ride on their loving,
and caring wings.

Honor and meal made special

We picked “Red” up in a cruiser as requested, and transported him from one
of the most caring environments I have ever seen, ManorCare in Kingston. “Red”
was surprised to see 25 friends at the door of Pasquale’s, some uniformed,
some not.

We were met by Pasquale, Judy Griffith, Corrine Meduec, and Karen Kiwak;
the staff at the restaurant. As usual, they outdid themselves in service,
preparation, atmosphere, and taste.

As we left, I approached Pasquale, and took out my wallet to settle the
bill. Here’s where it gets good.

Cops are used to giving orders, and believe me when it’s a food order, were
not bashful.

Before I could take out a dime, Pasquale closed my wallet, and said this:
“you serve the public; we serve the public, “Red” served longer than anyone
here. This ones on me.”

Our friend Pasquale picked up the tab for 25 people and reminded me of one
important thing.

Each one of us, no matter whom, are very much the same, and when we are
able we should remember to take care of each other just like “Red,” and
Pasquale, and ManorCare. Grazie Pasquale.
