    Gladys Martha Long, 84, of South Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday at the
   
Hospice St. John in-patient unit at Wilkes-Barre General HospitalBorn in
Wilkes-Barre on March 27, 1910, she was a daughter of the late William and
Ellen Guyler Tulp.
   
She attended Wilkes-Barre public schools.
   
Prior to retiring in 1976, she had been employed at the Retreat State
Hospital as a licensed practical nurse and telephone operator for 49 years.
   
She was a member of the West Nanticoke United Methodist Church and
Pennsylvania State Employees Retirement Association.
   
She was preceded in death by brothers, William and Norman Tulp.
   
Surviving are her husband, Herbert; brother, Guyler Tulp, Clifton, N.J.;
several nieces and nephews.
   
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the William E. Davis Funeral
Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Thomas Snyder, pastor of the
West Nanticoke United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Norman T. Faux, associate
pastor of Elm Park United Methodist Church, Scranton, officiating.
   
Interment will be in Edgehill Cemetery, West Nanticoke.
   
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
