Martha A. Meshinski, 100, formerly of Glen Lyon and Alden, passed away Wednesday morning at the Guardian Elder Care Center, Sheatown.
She was born in Glen Lyon on June 19, 1908, a daughter of the late Walter and Martha Nagorski Kleyps. She was employed by General Cigar Co., Nanticoke, until her retirement. After retiring, she volunteered her time at St. Adalbert’s Church, by preparing funeral luncheons and helping at various other church events.
She was a member of Corpus Christi/St. Adalbert’s Church, Glen Lyon, and was a member of its Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 539, Glen Lyon.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley Bonar, second husband, Frank Meshinski; son Leonard Bonar; sisters Matilda Polnasek, Verna Paulevicz; brothers Edward, Al, Narcy and Chester Kleyps.
Surviving are sons Robert Bonar and wife Helen; Stanley Bonar and wife Bernadine; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; sisters Stephanie Augustine, Melanie Kuniega; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., Glen Lyon. A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi/St. Adalbert’s Church. Interment is in St. Adlabert’s Cemetery, Glen Lyon.
