W-B/Scranton Penguins hockey players Barry Goers and Brendan Mikkelson make bead bracelets Wednesday after a practice for the 'Beads of Courage' program. The players along with their wives and girlfriends have teamed with the Palermo Heart to Heart Foundation to help support the program at Geisinger Janet Weis Children's Hospital in Danville. The program supports children and their families battling serious illness. Through the program, the children tell their stories using colorful beads representing different treatment milestones. The wives and girlfriends of the Penguins players will be selling special Penguins logo beads on the concourse at the Mohegan Sun Arena before the Friday, March 14 game.
