Keystone College will hold The Gathering 2014 from July 17 -20 on campus and feature author and journalist Victor Navasky, civil rights poet Sonia Sanchez and best-selling novelist Jacqueline Mitchard.

In its eighth year, The Gathering attracts an international audience for the program’s lectures, workshops, performances, discussions and social events. Participants include writers, artists, teachers, librarians, academics and people of many backgrounds who believe in the power of imagination.

The theme for the 2014 Gathering is “On Edge.” Speakers, workshop leaders and participants will explore “fragile margins where change happens: the borders of habitats where new species emerge, national boundaries where conflicts arise and cultures converge, the areas where tectonic plates collide, creating mountains and new land masses.” Participants will examine their own creative edginess, where new ideas are born.

The symposium is open to the public and registration is now open. For more information or to register, visit thegatheringatkeystone.org or contact Charlotte Ravaioli 570-945-8510 or charlotte.ravaioli@keystone.edu.
