The Wyoming Valley woke up to overcast skies today. The National Weather Service indicated that it was 17 degrees at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport as of 7:54 a.m.
Temperatures will climb as the week progresses, with highs in the 50s possible by the weekend.
Partly sunny skies are expected for the remainder of St. Patrick’s Day, with a high in the mid 30s. Partly sunny skies will give way to mostly cloudy skies tonight, with the low dropping to about 18 degrees.
Sunshine is expected on Tuesday, with the high climbing to the low 30s. Clouds will once again move into the area on Tuesday night, with a low in the upper 20s.
There will be a chance of showers on Wednesday, with a high in the lower 40s. The National Weather Service currently predicts a 50 percent chance of precipitation.
Rain and snow showers are likely on Wednesday night, with a low in the upper 30s. A 60 percent chance of precipitation is listed, but no accumulation predictions have been listed.
