This week’s quiet trend is going to give way to precipitation throughout today and into tomorrow.
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 35 degrees at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport as of 8:54 a.m. Overcast skies were also reported.
There will be a slight chance of rain and show showers before noon today — afterwards, scattered rain showers are expected. The National Weather Service predicts a 40 percent chance of precipitation, with little or no snow accumulation expect. The high will climb to 41 degrees.
Rain is likely tonight before 2 a.m., followed by rain and snow showers leading into Thursday morning. A 70 percent chance of precipitation is expected, with less than a half an inch of snow possible. Tonight’s low will only drop to about 36 degrees.
The chance for rain and snow will carry on throughout the morning hours on Thursday, followed by a slight chance of rain after 9 a.m. Otherwise, Partly sunny skies are expected with a high in the mid 40s. There is a 30 percent chance of precipitation, with less than a half an inch of snow possible.
Thursday night looks to be much quieter with partly cloudy skies expected. The low will drop to the mid 20s.
Mostly sunny skies are expected on Friday, with a high in the upper 40s. A chance of rain and show showers is expected on Friday night, with a low in the mid 30s. A 30 percent chance of precipitation is currently listed.
