LUZERNE – Borough council will hold a second budget meeting on Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. in the borough building, 144 Academy St. The meeting is open to the public.
PITTSTON – The city announces that, effective immediately, the fire inspection ordinance will be enforced throughout the city.
Inspections of new businesses and nuisance properties will continue on an as needed basis and given priority.
Annual inspections of all others mentioned in the ordinance will be scheduled at the convenience of the owner and inspectors, according to the ordinance.
Residents who want to report nuisance properties are asked to call the city clerk’s office at 654-0513.
To report a nuisance property, please leave your name, a call-back number and an address of the property in question.
Any deficiencies found during the inspections will be given 10 days to correct.
All properties containing one or more rental units must be inspected annually.
All businesses new to the city will be inspected for occupancy, exits, as well as all other city fire ordinances.
