Luzerne County College Community College will remain closed today after the college recevied a threat via email on Thursday, according to the campus’s website.

Luzerne County Community College closed at 9:30 a.m. today due to a computer threat.
The closure was announced on the college’s website. The college received emails containing a threat of serious harm directed at the campus. Staff and students are being asked to vacate campus in an orderly fashion as soon as possible. Text messages were sent to students asking them to vacate the campus.
The evacuation applies to all LCCC campuses.
Reports are that traffic is jammed on all outgoing roads due to the evacuation. Lisa Nelson, spokeswoman for LCCC, said the College’s Security department has notified local, county and state authorities. The FBI has also been notified. Law enforcement is currently on the scene at the College conducting an investigation.
