NANTICOKE — Luzerne County Community College will resume operations tomorrow morning following two days of a campus shutdown in the face of an email threat. The college issued the following statement and posted it on the LCCC Facebook page:

Luzerne County Community College will reopen on Saturday, March 29, at 8 a.m. LCCC closed Thursday and Friday after receiving, by email, a threat of violence directed at the College. The email message identified a specific date and time when the action would occur. That time has passed without incident. The College will resume normal operations as of tomorrow morning. As a precaution, the College will provide increased security who, as always, are available to assist students and staff at any time upon request. Law enforcement investigation of this matter is ongoing. Questions regarding the investigation should be directed to the Nanticoke Police Department.
