As part of the reaccreditation process by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges, St. Jude School welcomed the evaluation team with a program and dinner. Mary Ann Olszewski, principal, began the evening by conducting a tour of the school. A program was held in the cafeteria for the superintendent and assistant superintendent of the Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Scranton, members of the Holy Redeemer Board, the St. Jude School Advisory Council and Parent Teacher Guild officers, the faculty and staff of St. Jude School, and the visiting team members. Following opening remarks by Olszewski and team leader Eugene Lennon, the student choir presented several vocal selections. A PowerPoint presentation on the history of the school and current student activities was given. The faculty and staff received special recognition for their support of Catholic education and their commitment to the future of the school. A dinner prepared by the faculty and staff was enjoyed in the Day Room. The team spent the next few days visiting classrooms and evaluating the criteria necessary for reaccreditation. Commendations and recommendations were presented at the conclusion of the visit. The final report will be available in a few weeks.
