WILKES-BARRE — A Columbia County man was arrested Thursday in connection with the robbery of an attendant at a city parking lot. Police said a man approached the ticket booth at the Park & Lock West at 39 W. Northampton St. at 2:12 p.m. Thursday, reached into the booth and took cash from the female attendant, an employee of LAZ Parking, as she was counting it. The man fled east on Northampton Street with the cash. The employee activated the alarm and described the thief as a white male wearing a dark gray sweatshirt and light gray sweatpants and carrying a black bag. Police responding to the area observed a male walking near Movies 14 fitting the description, stopped him and identified him as Christopher Oblosser, 27, of Mifflinville. Oblosser was taken into custody after he was positively identified as the robbery suspect. He was charged with robbery, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned before District Judge David Barilla and, unable to post $10,000 bail, jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. April 15 before District Judge Rick Cronauer in Wilkes-Barre.
