Wilkes-Barre police are seeking witnesses to a crash on the Market Street Bridge, where a woman was struck by a vehicle on Sunday.

Police said Rebecca Filipski, of Peckville, a student at Wilkes University, was struck by a vehicle driven by Keith Yekel of Wilkes-Barre at about 5:23 p.m.

Filipski was transportced to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for severe injuries, police said.

A Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center spokeswoman said Filipski was in critical condition Monday afternoon.

Police said Yekel was traveling east in the right lane on the bridge when he struck Filipski, who was crossing Market Street near Kirby Park.
