Robert W. Nast, of Maple Lane, Tunkhannock, died Friday evening, October 22, 2010, in Mercy Tyler Hospital in Tunkhannock.

He was born in New York City, N.Y., on February 17, 1929, a son of the late Robert A. and Edith Lundy Nast.

Bob was a 1947 graduate of Tenafly High School in Tenafly, N.J., and received a bachelor’s degree from Bethany College. He also attended Columbia University. He was employed at Clarks Summit Hospital for over 30 years where he served as coordinator of Patient Activities. Bob was an active member in the Tunkhannock Baptist Church and enjoyed being with his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Marlene Riesenbeck Nast; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert “Burley” and Judy Nast of Factoryville, Pa., Richard and Pinky Nast of Tunkhannock, and William and Karen Nast of Hunlock Creek; daughter Holly Serocki of Sellersville, Pa.; as well as six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Tunkhannock Baptist Church, with Pastor Allen Mickle, pastor of the Tunkhannock Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunkhannock Baptist Church, PO Box 426, Tunkhannock, PA 186567.
