Temperatures to warm leading into the weekend

It was another chilly start to the day in the Wyoming Valley, but the temperatures are set to rebound as the day progresses.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 33 degrees as of 7:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. It was yet another bright and sunny morning for morning commuters.

Sunshine is expected for the rest of the day, and temperatures are expected to climb to the upper 50s. Clear skies will carry on into tonight, with the low dropping to about 30 degrees.

Sunny skies will usher in the weekend on Friday, with highs climbing to the mid 50s. Clouds will move into the area on Friday night, with a slight chance of rain after 9 p.m. Friday night’s low will drop to about 38 degrees.
