PITTSTON TWP. — After a career of 43 years that began as business manager and rose to position of executive director of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport for the last 25, Barry Centini on Thursday publicly announced that he will retire at the end of the year.

Centini, 65, of Plains Township, said the time has come for him to step aside.

All members of the airport board lauded Centini’s service and career accomplishments, the brightest being the $90 million construction of the new terminal.
