Janice Richardson, Shickshinny, Kellie Kalada and Reiley Paulewicz, both of Mountain Top, and Savannah Aton of Noxen, participated in a recent Luzerne County 4-H demonstration event. Richardson, a member of the Yellow Rose 4-H Club, presented ‘Beef, Not Just What’s for Dinner’; Kalada, of Tall In the Saddle 4-H Club, offered ‘Horse Slaughter is Inhumane and Cruel’; ‘Parts of a Saddle’ was given by Aton of Tall in the Saddle 4-H Club, and Paulewicz, also a member of Tall in the Saddle 4-H Club, presented ‘How to Groom a Horse.’ The demonstrations are an opportunity for 4-H members to develop and use communication skills, develop self-confidence, and to research and develop a knowledge base in selected subject matter. 4-H is a family-oriented education program of Penn State Cooperative Extension for youths 5 and 19 years old. For more information, contact Donna Grey, Penn State Extension educator, at 825-1701 or 602-0600. Participants, from left, are Kalada, Richardson, Paulewicz, and Aton.
