A wet weekend could be in store for the Wyoming Valley.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 36 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. Skies were clouded for the morning commute, and a light sprinkle could be felt in some spots.

Cloudy skies will dominate the day today, but temperatures should surge to the mid 60s. Showers are expected tonight mainly before 2 a.m. Between a quarter and half an inch of rain is possible. The low will dip into the mid 40s.

The chance for rain will carry on into Saturday, with otherwise partly sunny skies. Temperatures will reach the mid 60s, with less than a tenth of an inch of rain possible. Rain will be possible once again on Saturday night, mainly before 10 p.m. — otherwise, partly cloudy skies are expected. Saturday night’s low will reach the upper 30s.

Sun will finally return on Sunday, with the high reaching the upper 50s. Partly cloudy skies are expected on Sunday night, with the low dipping to the mid 30s.
