A Crestwood High School senior’s design has been selected from nearly 200 entries as the winner of the 2014 Fine Arts Fiesta poster contest.

In addition to being used as the annual event’s official poster, Krista Yocius’ design will be used for T-shirts and band shell decorations.

The annual Fines Arts Fiesta, with an official theme “Artistry & Melody,” will be May 15 through May 18 on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre.

Andrew Gamble, also a senior at Crestwood, saw his design finish second, while Victor Galeno, a sophomore at Meyers High School, finished third. All three students received prizes from contest sponsor Marquis Art & Frame of Wilkes-Barre and Scranton.

The following student designs earned honorable mention: Amy Webster, senior, Meyers High; Izabell Hearst, eighth-grader, Meyers; Laura Brown, senior, West Side Career Technical High School; and Syndia Perez, eighth-grader, Meyers.
