LEHMAN TWP. — The pipeline company Williams has extended its time for an open house scheduled for Tuesday evening to allow more people to attend.

The open house is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. at Lake-Lehman High School along Old Route 115 in Lehman Township to give Back Mountain residents a chance to learn more about the Atlantic Sunrise pipeline expansion project that will affect five municipalities in northern Luzerne County.

It had previously been scheduled to end at 8 p.m.

The open house is required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as part of the planning process for the new pipeline.

The Atlantic Sunrise project proposes to carry natural gas from the Marcellus shale region to connect with the Transcontinental Pipeline near Philadelphia from where it will be sent south, according to a Transco project overview.
