Police are looking for the man who robbed Decker’s Flowers on Blackman Street at knifepoint on Sunday afternoon.
The suspect is white, approximately 30 years old and 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing sunglasses, a white baseball cap, blue jeans and a blue and green windbreaker-type jacket. He fled the area in a white Ford Ranger pickup truck.
Police said they responded to the shop at 1:27 p.m. for the report of an armed robbery. Clerks told police they were in the back room when the man entered the store, came to the counter with a knife and said, “Give me all your money or I’ll stab you.”
The clerks went to the rear of the store and the suspect took checks and paperwork from the cash register, police said. The suspect bumped the end of the counter and dropped the weapon, a large kitchen knife, police said. He fled the store and was chased onto Loomis Street, where he got into the pickup that was last seen heading east on Parrish Street toward Hazle Avenue.
