George Donadi, Hazleton Area School District director of elementary middle schools, explained on Monday the proposed boundary lines for students who will attend Arthur Street and Hazleton elementary-middle schools in the 2014-15 school year.
Beginning at the northern-most boundary line, which is 17th Street in Hazleton, and going east on 17th Street, all students living south of 17th Street will attend one of those schools depending on their grade level.
The boundary will extend southeast to the Hazle Springs area, at which point it will come back west on Diamond Avenue to North Manhattan Court. At that point, the boundary extends south to Broad Street (Route 93).
The boundary line will extend west on Broad Street to Church Street (Route 309), and then continue north on Church Street to Diamond Avenue. The boundary line will then proceed west along Diamond Avenue to Locust Street. It will then proceed north on Locust Street to 15th Street.
The boundary line will then proceed east on 15th Street to Church Street (Route 309) and then proceed north to 17th Street.
