Sunshine will finally return to the Wyoming Valley this weekend.
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 56 degrees at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport as of 7:54 a.m. Overcast skies lingered overhead like most of the rest of the week.
Cloudy skies will eventually give way to partly sunny skies today, with a high in the mid 70s. There will be a slight chance for showers tonight before 10 p.m. — otherwise, partly cloudy skies are expected. Tonight’s low will only drop to about 51 degrees.
Sunny skies are predicted for Saturday, with a high in the mid 70s. Saturday will also bring clear skies, with a low in the mid 40s.
The sunny trend for the weekend will continue on Sunday, with a high in the upper 70s. Clear skies are expected to remain overnight Sunday and into the beginning of next week. Sunday night’s low will drop to about 52 degrees.
