The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for portions of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The watch includes Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties, and will expire at midnight tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will continue across the area this evening, with rainfall possible. Rainfall amounts of over 2 inches in less than 3 hours will be enough to cause flooding of streams, creeks and poor drainage areas.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
