PLAINS TWP. — There was no cover charge Saturday night at Twist nightclub as it prepared to close its doors for the final time.
The plaza where the club popular with the gay community is located was sold and the space will be converted into offices, making Saturday night the club’s final night.
Nik Hughes, manager of the club, said the closing won’t be the end, however.
“We’ll take about a year off,” he said. What direction it will take, he didn’t say, adding, it’s going “to be continued.”
The $5 cover charge was lifted for the night. The seats at the bar were filled and above it televisions showed the movie “Finding Nemo.”
The club has been counting down the days on its Facebook page. A post Friday said, “Thank you ALL for 15 AMAZING years…we couldn’t have done it without YOU!”
