WILKES-BARRE TWP. — Police are investigating a report of a police impersonator pulling over a female driver.

Emily Desantis reported to police that a white male in a black Dodge Charger with blue and white flashing lights pulled her over to the side of the road on Highland Park Boulevard at 11:43 a.m. Sunday.

The male asked Desantis if she knew why he had pulled her over. She responded that she did not know, and the male replied that she was going 40 in a 25 mph zone, police said.

The male, who was not wearing a uniform, but rather a white dress shirt with a black tie and black pants, refused to identify himself when Desantis asked to see his badge, police said.

When the male ordered Desantis to exit the vehicle, she refused and drove away. The male did not follow her when she turned into the parking lot of the Wyoming Valley Mall.

Desantis advised police that the vehicle had an unknown Pennsylvania registration plate.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department Detective Division by calling 570-208-4635, extension 870, or by email at
