WILKES-BARRE — City police arrested two men who they say used a sword to abduct another man they forced to strip over a money debt early Friday morning.

Police said they arrested Jhogan Figueroa Guerra, 27, and Juan Hernandez, age unknown, both of Wilkes-Barre, just after 1 a.m.

A 27-year-old man told police Guerra and Hernandez entered a residence on Hutson Street and brandished a sword forcing him to leave the residence with them. The victim reported Guerra and Hernandez knew he was paid on Thursday and claimed he owed them money, police said.

Police said the victim reported he was taken to an unknown location, stripped of his clothes and ordered to surrender money and bank cards. When the victim didn’t have all the items Guerra and Hernandez wanted, they returned to the Hutson Street residence where the victim called 911, police said.

Police arrested Guerra and later apprehended Hernandez at a residence on Jones Street.

Police said Guerra and Hernandez were charged with kidnapping, robbery and related offenses.
