WILKES-BARRECity police said a teen girl was sexually assaulted in Kirby Park in the area near the Market Street Bridge on Monday.


The girl claimed a white man pulled her into woods near the bridge and assaulted her at about 4:50 p.m. She told police she did not know the man.


She described the man as being tall, skinny, clean shaven with dirty blonde hair, missing several teeth and wearing blue jean shorts and a white tank top. He has a noticeable scar on the right side of his neck that begins below his right ear and continues to his shoulder. He was carrying a pink bag and riding a red BMX-style bike.
