Police respond to another shooting incident in area of Coal Street

WILKES-BARRE — For the second night in a row, Wilkes-Barre police responded to a shooting incident in the area of Coal Street.


According to Luzerne County 911, police were called to the 200 block of Coal Street Wednesday night around 11 p.m. for a reported gun-shot victim. Reportedly, the victim showed up at the door of a residence with a gun-shot wound to his arm.


Just a night earlier, two men were shot at the troubled Sherman Hills apartment complex. Police said two black men in their 20s were shot during an attempted robbery Tuesday night. The men were found in building 328 at approximately 11:30 p.m., police said.


One of the men was shot in the left leg and the other man was shot in the torso, police said. They were taken to a local hospital, police said. City detectives are investigating.


There were no further details on the Wednesday night incident.
