Despite a chilly morning, it is shaping up to be a sunny weekend for the Wyoming Valley.
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 54 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. Sunny skies helped to welcome the end of the work week. Early birds could see shades of red and pink in the early morning hours as the sun rose.
Sunny skies will be the trend today, with a high in the lower 80s. Some clouds will move into the area tonight, with a low in the mid 50s.
Partly sunny skies are also predicted for Saturday, with a high in the lower 80s. There will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 p.m. on Saturday — otherwise, mostly cloudy skies are expected. The low on Saturday night will be in the mid 50s.
That slight chance for showers and thunderstorms will carry over into Sunday under partly sunny skies. The high for Sunday will be in the lower 80s. Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Sunday night, with a low in the lower 60s.
