LAFLIN — The Laflin Borough Volunteer Fire Company has been awarded a $20,634 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to help purchase 10 sets of outer protective clothing, U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-Moosic, announced Tuesday.

The grant, administered through the Federal Emergency Management Agency, was among 10 such grants awarded to fire companies in Cartwright’s 17th Congressional District.
