Wyoming Borough has renamed the Butler Street Park the John Jude Bolin Memorial Park, Mayor Bob Boyer has announced.

The park is named in honor of Wyoming resident John Bolin, who recently died of cancer, Boyer said in a news release.

Bolin was a Wyoming firefighter, a member of the Wyoming Area School Board, a trustee at the Wyoming Free Library and director of recreation for Wyoming Borough.

The park was renamed in his honor in recognition of his service to the community and his hard work and dedication to recreation programs in the borough, Boyer said.

The renaming ceremony will be Aug. 9 at 9 a.m. in the park. The public is welcome to attend.
